Continuous portion of the Northeast Creek bottom lands natural heritage area between Grandale Road and the American Tobacco Trail

Protecting this natural heritage area from unwise dense development is what launched Northeast Creek Streamwatch’s advocacy program. Being able to partner with an organization building a needed facility is what allowed the rescue of the history and archaeology of two black farmsteads that form the DPS property for Lyon’s Farm Elementary School.
