stone wall at southeast corner of Bee James house, Lyon's Farm Elementary School site

Archaeological documentation of SE corner of Bee James farm house foundations at Lyon’s Farm Elementary School site

Current research indicates that a black farmer named Bee James bought this property in 1942 and built a house with a cold cellar, a hand-dug well, and an 18-ft by 18-ft barn at about the same time, as evidenced by their construction mostly from square and rounded diabase boulders and dressed red sandstone blocks.
