This red sandstone foundation block is what inspired the archaeological salvage effort at the construction site of Lyon’s Farm Elementary School.

The farmhouse foundation of the Bee James farmhouse was made of hand-laid diabase boulders, dressed red sandstone blocks, and infills of brick and concrete block. This particular dressed sandstone block is what inspired the effort to research the history and document the archaeology of this farmstead.
