A map of the Northeast Creek watershed, a tributary of New Hope Creek, which flows into Jordan Lake. The Haw River also flows into and out of Jordan Lake. The Haw River and the Deep River join to form the Cape Fear River, which enters the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Fear near Wilmington, NC.

Northeast Creek comprises the following tributaries: North Prong, Northeast Prong, Tributary C, Tributary D, Burdems Creek, Buck Branch, Kit’s (Kitt’s) Creek, Panther Creek, Nancy Branch, Cedar Fork. It runs from Ellis Road and Angier Avenue in downtown Durham, from US 70 and Miami Boulevard in Bethesda, and from Riddle Road between Fayetteville Road and Briggs Avenue to the NC 751 bridge on Lake Jordan.
